Heinkel
There are three types of Heinkel big end bearing and referring to the timing side main shaft most easily identifies these. Details of each type are shown below.
The timing side main shaft fitted to bearing reference HKL1 frequently breaks away at the end and when replacing these shafts it is our practice to fit a shaft, part number HKL4. The replacement shaft has a larger bearing diameter and is much stronger than the original design. The bearing distance spacer can also be discarded when employing the later shaft.
Original Heinkel con rods are rather thin and frequently fracture. New big ends for Heinkel engines (except Perle) are supplied with new connecting rods until current stocks are exhausted.
